Who's the babe?
Jason Priestley is back…
…And already it looks like he is on the verge of being dumped. Last night, Lifetime premiered it’s new show Side Order of Life starring Marisa Coughlan (Boston Legal), as Jenny McIntyre, and Jason Priestley, (the list goes on) as her maybe fiancé Ian Denison. McIntyre is a neurotic 30-year-old photograher for InPerson magazine who’s scared of Denison, dying, and walking down the aisle in her “Saturday” underpants. She seems pretty normal — part Ally McBeal, part Meredith Grey, part Ugly Betty. Though she does have a friend in a mystery character named Cell Phone Man. Srsly.
Compared to Army Wives — the Sunday night Lifetime entrée – Side Order is a lot of cheese that’s been in the fondue pot before. And, McIntyre’s already postponed her wedding to Priestly’s well-acted character. Basically, she is doing all the usual stuff to ruin romance with the has-been-teen-actor-playing-the-dreamy-lead. And, coming from Writer/Creator and Executive Producer Margaret Nagle, whose experience dates back to My So Called Life, it’s a done-before disapointment, which neither soundtracks by Regina Spektor, nor KT Tunstall can save.
Poor Jason Priestley. He’d make a decent McDreamy stand-in, though.
