Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in their natural habitats.

Fóumami Asian Sandwich Bar

All I know about Asian cuisine I learned from the Food Wall down the street from my apartment. They don't serve sandwiches. What gives?
Fóumami is very different from a typical Asian restaurant. They're very specific about their sandwiches and their bread, but I mostly go for their oatmeal in the morning.

Oatmeal is considered Asian food?
It's really not, I guess. But their oatmeal is so great, and they bake their own fresh granola to go on top. It's irresistible.

I suppose no continent wants to admit to inventing oatmeal . . .
I suppose not. But in this case, I like to have a nice warm breakfast that's pretty good for you.

Can you think of two food items that should never be combined in sandwich form?
Pizza and lo mein. That would be bad for you.

Pizza is already a food combination. So would a sandwich with pizza in it still be a sandwich?
Well, you can pretty much put anything between two pieces of bread, so anything could be a sandwich.

What about the KFC Double Down?
That was an atrocity and not a sandwich. It was a fried-chicken meal with stuff in between.
