You go, James Franco

As if there was ever a question that James Franco was a very pretty dude. Hats off to the versatile actor, who's been fielding a barrage of "is he or isn't he?" rumors since playing *gasp* gay in both Howl and Milk. (He also played Spidey's friend-turned-evil nemesis, by the way, but as far as I know he doesn't spend his off-hours scheming up nasty machinations against fictional comic book heroes. Just saying.) Franco went all-out for the cover of the yet-to-be-released second issue of Candy: "the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, in all its manifestations."

But whether Franco is or isn't actually gay really isn't relevant. Whether he's just issuing a big fuck you to the speculators (and to the fact that people even think sexuality is something worth speculating) or bravely flaunting said sexuality, he deserves many props. All too many public figures (ahem, Anderson Cooper) seem too fearful to push this particular envelope. Let's hope that this is one big small step for Candy and one large step towards freedom of expression. (Though I personally would be a bit sad to hear that Franco's batting for the other team...they already have the monopoly on attractive men around here.)
