[video premiere] Earthquake Party "Pretty Little Hand"
EARTHQUAKE PARTY's minimalistic punk spirit surfaces once again in the band's new official video for "Pretty Little Hand". The track -- which is currently up for "Song of the Year" in our annual Best Music Poll -- is from their 5-minute-long 3-track tape Vs Pizza, self-released earlier this year.
"I wanted to create something minimal," said the video's director (and Phoenix contributor) Addison Post of Loroto Productions. "No drag proms, bourgeois
parties, future cops, or neon lights. Just the band playing a song. A
deliberate portrayal of how Justin, Mallory, and J-Raff interact with
their instruments, and an unrelenting loud image reacting to the
vibrations. We shot 24 takes. I'm still in complete awe that anyone can
last that long with consistent energy. They are amazing artists--loud,
vital, hypnotized by their own music."
