The morning after -- life after BMP 2011
Holy shit.
Last night's Best Music Poll awards party was -- to put it as professionally as possible -- redonkulous. I'm way too hungover to come up with a highlight, but there were some pretty special moments: PETER WOLF and DUKE LEVINE jamming with BODEGA GIRLS and Nikki of STEREO TELESCOPE for the grand finale, Bodega covering 'Til Tuesday, Real Kids and Modern Lovers classics, MEAN CREEK destroying with a monstrous rendition of "The Comedian" (which would win WFNX Boston Accents Song of the Year), ukulele-armed Amanda Palmer crashing the party and stage, Bill Janovitz from BUFFALO TOM lighting things up, birthday boy Cosmo and Bobby from DOM thrashing "Living In America" with Bodega, FREEZEPOP getting people to move, MOE POPE throwing it down, host PAUL FOLEY opening the show with Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step"... what else? ... oh the awards ... oh a billion other things I'm forgetting... oh and the Bruins winning the Stanley Fucking Cup.
Jesus H Possums.
We're off to Clambake in a bit (Dom's on stage in three hours), stacked with buckets of Vitamin Water in our messenger bags, so hang in there, sober up, and keep it locked for coming wave of BMP video evidence. Shit is starting to trickle in, and we'll have it all posted by tomorrow. Maybe.
In the meantime, peep the AMERICA FUCK YEAH video taken in the green room of the Brighton Music Hall right after the Bs won the Cup, and grab a copy of this week's Phoenix. Mean Creek is nekkid on it.
One love, Boston. xo
