THURSDAY 01.13 | THROWED @ Middle East downstairs
Is Throwed Boston’s biggest dance party? Several hundred screaming-mad, scantily clad, college-aged electro kids can’t be wrong, right? Despite Facebook groups like “Enough with the Throwed Pictures,” E-Marce’s party was promoted from Tuesdays to Thursdays. In a city where the intimate dance party is the trend, Throwed remains a mega-beast on the scene.

FRIDAY 01.14 | X-MORTIS @ T.T. the Bear’s Place
“I own several firearms and have ZERO tolerance for humans,” states legendary NYC goth/industrial DJ Hellraver on his MySpace page. Let’s hope he leaves the weaponry at home when battling our own dark disco maven, DJ Chris Ewen. Remember, X-Mortis is a fetish party, so stay home if not dolled up in latex, supervillain attire, or “all black.”

SATURDAY 01.15 | VIDEODROME DISCOTHEQUE @ Common Ground
Vintage-pop Videodrome presents its second annual birthday tribute to David Bowie. “Ep. 42: All the Young Dudes” promises a 95 percent slate of Thin White Duke visuals and sounds, as well as the usual collabo players (Lou Reed, Klaus Nomi). But please, spare us the Earthling era.

SATURDAY 01.15 | DJ DEMI @ Rise
Let’s also hope the city allows Rise to reopen in time to welcome British house DJ and producer Demi. The private after-hours club was shuttered on New Year’s Eve for perceived capacity violations, but the owners are optimistic on getting this mess sorted out. If the city gives the okay, expect Rise to be bumpin’ that London sound till sunrise.

TUESDAY 01.18 | PIG PILE @ Enormous Room
Blogs hosting dance parties is so 2010, but Phoenix contributor Luke O’Neil’s Put That Shit on the List correctly noticed a city need for more “boner jam” nights. DJs EvRock (Bodega Girls), Die Young (Make It New), and more spin the hits, and if it sucks, PTSOTL will be the first to say so.
