Tomorrow I head off for a week's vacation, in which I expect to be mostly out of pocket and out of touch. Way back when I planned this, it seemed like the last week of January would be a good time to be away -- what happens the last week of January? Little did I know -- Tom Menino will give his delayed State of the City address; John Kerry will be confirmed Secretary of State; Deval Patrick will likely name an interim Senator; Steve Lynch, Scott Brown or others might give indications of their Senate special-election intentions; the Massachusetts GOP will choose a new chairman; and who knows what else.
You'll have to get through all of it without my wise and witty commentary, I'm afraid. (Although you will get a feature on Boston City Councilor John Connolly, coming in next week's issue of the Phoenix.)
So, before I leave, what the heck -- throw me all your questions, in comments to this post or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org (let me know if you wish to remain anonymous), and I will do my best to answer in posts throughout the day.
Looking forward to it!
