New In The Phoenix -- JKIII Launches
In the new issue of the Boston Phoenix -- in print tomorrow, online now -- I write about the successful launch of Joe Kennedy III's congressional campaign. I take note that, as much as he might claim to be running as his own man, the Kennedy family is a ubiquitous presence in these parts -- and can insert itself in unpredictable ways.
I mean, who could have guessed that shortly after Joe's kickoff, a Republican Presidential candidate's nasty remarks would send thousands to YouTube for their first viewing of the famous 1960 JFK religion speech AND that the Globe would be chiding Patrick Kennedy for monopolizing interpretation of his father's words (as the paper did today) AND that one of Joe's cousins would be charged with assaulting his newborn's nurses?
Three totally seperate stories, involving different family members, all making headlines. All in a single weekend.
I'm just saying, this is something that doesn't happen to normal candidates.
Anyway, here's the article: All Signs Go For Joe
