Things are heating up on Ask Me Anything Day! "George Williams" asks:

When will the first black Mayor of Boston be elected?...and what current black pols do you think have a chance at being the one to make history?

As for the 'when,' that depends in large part on whether Tom Menino decides to run for a historic 9th term, or calls it quits in 2025.

As for who, I think you've always got to keep your eye on Charlotte Golar Richie. There are also a bunch of bright, talented people who are now or have been in and around the Patrick administration. Linda Dorcina Forry is a superstar. Andrea Cabral has to be taken seriously. Further down the line everyone's watching Ayanna Pressley.

I'm also moving Marie St. Fleur way up my list; there's a strong set of rumors going around, that I've been sitting on as a good journalist b/c I haven't gotten verification -- but hey, it's Ask Me Anything Day! so, yes, the rumor is that St. Fleur is not running for re-election, and will instead go to work for Menino at DND. Is she being groomed to be next?
