Not Much To Say About These Things

--I'm not going to be able to add much to the testimonials about Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who passed away early this morning; others far more capable than I are doing the job very well.

--A couple months back I dubbed Mass. Transportation Secretary James Aloisi "the Don Rickles of intergovernmental relations... alienat[ing] everyone in his path." I'm not sure I can improve on that in regards to the latest in the Grabauskas Wars.

--The Mel King endorsement of Sam Yoon was long expected; it was just a matter of the campaign picking the timing they wanted. It follows the endorsement of former state senator Roy [Correction: William] Owens, and I'm led to understand there will be more from the minority community rolled out over the coming weeks. No disrespect to King and Owens, who are important community voices to be certain, but the bigger question to me is whether they are joined by any currently active position holders, who have more to lose from defying Menino.

--What can I say about the first (annual?) "Tobin-Connolly Summer Games," for kids age 6-13, taking place today at Catholic Memorial High in West Roxbury? I just hope the two savvy city councilors came to fisticuffs over top billing.

--I also have no advice about which event you should attend after work today: Wine Tasting with Tito Jackson; Women for Ego Ezedi; or Latinos for Felix Arroyo.
