I'll be on Jim Braude's NECN show at 6:00 tonight, talking Menino, state budget, and whatever else.

Speaking of the Mayor, his campaign has released its first TV ad. Holy smokes that's an early jump into the game. When the Herald reported that Menino was spotted filming for a campaign ad recently, I assumed it was just for a web-site campaign-launch video. Apparently not -- they say it's a $100,000 ad buy for a 30 second ad. (They sent it to me, but I'm having a problem loading the video. Apparently it's "an unfiltered look at the mayor, speaking with voters about what he believes.")

Is this early ad buy a sign that he's worried, or an early show of strength? You make the call....
