Masterstrokes: Pre-Vinylite Society sign-painting demo at Orchard/Extension Gallery this weekend

Last weekend marked the opening of the Pre-Vinylite Society's hand-painted sign art exhibit in the Extension Gallery above Orchard Skate Shop in Allston. And if you're familiar with the gallery's previous shows, you know they're good for some pretty amazing feats of art-ness.

The Pre-Vinylite group show, up now through December 9, showcases some seriously rad signs and truly masterful hand-lettering. In conjunction with this display of DIY fervor, the dudes at Orchard and Pre-Vinylite are are hosting a sign-painting demo this Saturday, November 19.

From 2 - 5pm, two of the artists featured in the show -- Josh Luke and Kenji Nakayama -- will be sharing their knowledge of sign-making techniques. They'll cover everything from basic letter strokes and pattern making to pinstripe and gold leaf, welcoming interested folks of all ages and skill levels. BE THERE.
