A few weeks ago we published an update on the story of Myles J. Connor, the art thief who once claimed to have been the mastermind of the (still unsolved) art-heist of the 20th century: the theft of $300 million in paintings -- including Vermeer's The Concert -- from Boston's Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in 1990. (Detracting from Connor's claim is the fact that on the night of the theft he was in jail cell in Illinios, the result of his attempt to sell a bunch of cocaine and two stolen paintings from Amherst College to an undercover FBI officer.)
Well: now we can all rest easy. Last night a man who is not Myles J. Connor confessed to stealing the Vermeer from the Gardner.
