Happy Thursday, where today on Accents we spotlighted two shows this weekend at the Middle East, yelled about a whole bunch of ragtime, figured out which words we can never spell properly, and opened the show with three straight songs by the same artist. No rules radio, Boston style. Here's what we heard...
EARTHQUAKE PARTY “Little Pet” -- Kicking it off with three songs in four minutes, the entirety of EqP's new EP, Let's Rock, OK?. Band is playing the Mean Creek homecoming party December 1 at Great Scott, then the next night at the Boston Music Awards, but I'm unsure if I'm allowed to say that publicly. The punk trio is up for Best Rock Act in this, the 25th annual, Boston Music Awards.

HERRA TERRA “Hyperborea” -- ... perhaps Central Mass' finest electroni-whatever band, and this track was pulled off their Hyperborean EP that came out this year. Solid fookin bill.

NAKED ON ROLLER SKATES “Payphone” -- Friday's Mid East show doubles as the record release party for NORS's Songs From A Wooden Box, dropping simultaneously with Muy Cansado's Let It Go.
OLDJACK “Chorus Line” -- On our PHX Playlist we also features older songs from Oldjack and Sarah RabDAU & Self-Employed Assassins, but I decided to spin this Oldjack tune instead because it rules.

QUILT “Young Gold” -- It's the one-year anniversary of Quilt's self-titled record, which took home Best Album/EP in our 2012 Best Music Poll. Catch the Q and Ghost Box Orchestra on November 11 at Brighton Music Hall.

CALEB GROH “Catastrophic Culprit” -- Caught Mr Groh at Red Star Union in Cambridge last night for a BMA pre-party, the singer/guitarist is up for Folk Act of the Year in the BMAs. Very talented young man, this guy.
