Bands today, they stay together for too damn long.
Not THE HUMAN TAIL, the Boston duo that’s calling it a day after just dropping the ferocious seven-track Tape EP and cassette last fall. One of the dudes -- that’s like half the band right there -- is moving to Los Angeles, which we’re willing to forgive only because he’s not going to Brooklyn like the rest of the lameasses who leave our city. The good news is that he, one Mike Boston, plans to stick around until April-ish, so the Human Tail are going out with a string of shows. It'll be a blaze of blurry, obnoxious, loud garage punk that’ll make us all gobble up their limited releases and try to pimp them on eBay in a few years.
Fulfilling their promose to play as much as possible until ka-boom time, the Humal Tail are double dipping this week in the All-Brite 'hood, giving us two chances to catch them live:
- Thursday, February 17 at the Magic Room Gallery, 155 North Beacon Street in Brighton, alongside Reinging Sound and the Woods Colt. 8pm, $12, 21+
- Saturday, February 19 at O’Brien’s, 3 Harvard Avenue in Allston, along with Bozmo (Wonderful Spells + Pretty & Nice + Earthquake Party! supergroup), the Clippers, and some band we’ve never heard of, Young Adults. 9pm, $7, 21+ (Facebook RSVP page)
In the meantime, get fresh with their Soundcloud page, which features two of their rippinest tracks, “Everybody Knows” and “Never Really Tried.” Both appropriate at the same time. RIP.
