Holy Shit! Best Video So Far This Year (and other Time Crisis superlatives)
There used to be time to let a song marinate before the video dropped (as opposed to now, when virgin exposure often commences through visuals). That goes double for a deep track that you've played a few dozen times, and imagined some vids for on your own, as is the case for me here.
"Bricks" by Time Crisis and partyboobytrap was by far one of my favorite tracks of 2010 (off one of the year's best albums). I profiled the whole Fameless Fam gang a few months ago, and, now more than ever, am convinced that in short time they'll resonate with thoughtful hip-hop heads across the planet.
This video is IMAX-worthy - a triumph to complement a triumph (which is not surprising considering the Emerson connections). These guys threw a house party in Allston last weekend, and I hope all the polluted co-eds there knew that they were witnessing the next group that MTV will play 10-second clips of between reality shows as proof that they support independent music.
