VIDEO: Old Hannah, live at an Allston hoot

This week in the fishwrap, new contributor P. Nick Curran takes the pulse of a burgeoning neo-folk scene congregating monthly, sans amplification, at an undisclosed location in Allston. When we got the footage back we did a double take, because it looked like newsreel of Cambridge in the '60s. Who knew? Chalk us up as converted fans of Nick Beaven and the group Old Hannah -- whose singer, A.K., hits some notes Joan Baez would probably get nostalgic for. We've got three clips: one (above) of Old Hannah, one of Beaven, and a quick sketch of the most recent Hoot, which transpired on March 27.
