For a couple months, our colleague Mike Miliard has been playing audio clips of Barack Obama's audiobook reading of Dreams From My Father around the office, to universal hilarity. We finally convinced him to blog about it -- which in the past 24 hours has ignited another indelible web meme. The mp3 files of Barack channeling his friend Ray -- and also his younger, more profane self -- have been Reddited, reposted, YouTubed, YTMND'd, waxy'd, and Farked. The blogosphere has been lit up by such instant catch phrases as "Sorry-ass motherfucker ain't got nothing on me," "This shit's getting way too complicated," "You ain't my bitch, nigga, get your own damn fries," and "Sure you can have my number, baby!" Dance remixes? Yes, they were inevitable. The first two debuted today on YouTube, but we're hoping that some of our DJ friends can come up with something better. Maybe by tonight? So that we can try slipping them to Obama booster Shepard Fairey, who's spinning with Z-Trip at the ICA later this evening? No promises, but get at us if you put something together.
