Fireworks

Ironic timing, this:

AUGUSTA – Today at 2:00 p.m., Governor LePage will travel to Scarborough to tour Phantom Fireworks, a national consumer fireworks company with over 1,200 locations nationwide. Accompanying the Governor will be State Fire Marshal Joe Thomas, who will discuss fireworks safety for the coming Independence Day holiday. Receiving the Governor will be Phantom Fireworks’ Vice President, William Weimer.

Since fireworks were legalized in Maine last year, eight stores have opened in seven towns across the state, with two more expected to open soon. Members of the town council, local officials, the Scarborough Economic Development Corporation, the local Chamber of Commerce, as well as representatives from the local fire department will also be in attendance. Brief remarks will be given by Governor LePage, VP Weimer, and Fire Marshal Thomas.

(YES I KNOW PPH COMMENTERS THAT SPARKLERS ARE NOT FIREWORKS.)
