Boston has always been a rock-and-roll city wrapped tightly inside a band-driven mindset. But these days, a handful of solo artists are making an electronic racket on stages across the area, melding traditional live-performance technique with scrupulously recorded and manipulated sounds that push the envelope of electronica. From the organic atmospherics of Lenkadu to the streamlined electro breeze of Andre Obin, solo artists are finally catching up to bands in Boston's live-music circuit, filling venues with bodies on their own. Here's the breakdown on five of these modern-day loners in a city of sonic collaboration.
