Romney & Cellucci -- Not So Much
I just thought this was kinda funny. Republican state rep. Karyn Polito's campaign for state treasurer sent out a "Press Advisory" yesterday morning touting this:
Former Massachusetts Governors Mitt Romney and Paul Cellucci will hold a press
availability with State Treasurer candidate Karyn Polito prior to a fundraising
event today, June 23 at 5:15 p.m. at the Liberty Hotel (215
Charles Street, Boston, Third Floor Rotunda).
Romney and Cellucci will discuss the Commonwealth's budget problems and why
it is important to have a watchdog in the Treasurer's Office who is committed to
fiscal discipline and curbing out-of-control government spending.
It struck me as interesting, because Celluccio was a big, active backer of his buddy Rudy Giuliani in the 2008 Presidential contest, and Romney was said to not be real pleased about it. So, the dynamics of the two of them at a joint presser sounded fascinating.
But yesterday afternoon the Polito campaign sent an "Updated Press Advisory":
Former Massachusetts Governor Paul Cellucci will hold a press availability....
Media Update - Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is unable
to attend the press availability due to flight delays.
Hmm. Flight delays. Like, maybe, 'I'm not getting on the jet until you cancel this joint presser"?
