You didn't hear it here, but not everything can be found on the Internet — peep the flyers tacked to the boards below to find everything from Allston basement shows to what bands are in town.That is, after you've scoured our music listings. (But we know you're already all over those.)

While record shops are shutting down faster than you can say illegal file-sharing, a few Boston gems remain. In Your Ear is one of them, and you can still count on the local institution for your show down-low needs. Damn the Man. more

You already know that the Booksmith has author appearances, readings, and other great events almost every night of the week. What you might not have known is that the little neighborhood book shop can also be a great source for what's up on the Boston music scene. more

This locally-owned bagel hot-spot (seriously, they're delicious. New York- take note) is also a great spot to talk about the night's live music plans while chowing down on lox and cream cheese. more
