Lansdowne Street
Heather Martin
So you're an accountant at the House of Blues. What have been your best
and worst experiences here on Lansdowne?
I'll start with worst. I saw a fight: two yah-bros going at
it, with backwards hats and everything. One punched the other into the street,
and a car came. Didn't hit him. Everything's fine, everything's great, but just
considering people could be that angry. . . . In this area,
there's a higher concentration of drunken jockocracy, which can lead to getting
hit by a car.
How ‘bout your best
experience?
My first concert at House of Blues, before I worked there,
was Hole. Courtney Love's ridiculousness set a tone that made me want to work
where I work. She pulled her dress up and showed everybody her designer
underwear.
Your all-time
favorite tourist encountered?
The ones with elastic waistband jean shorts and hip packs
stopping to take a picture of Fenway
Park. That's kind of
every day.
