Meet the Mayor: Revere Beach

Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in their natural habitats.

Revere Beach
Neira Pekmez

I'm told, once upon a time, there were used syringes and condoms all over Revere Beach?
I haven't seen any syringes or condoms.

How does it feel to be interviewed by a dude with ice cream all over his face?

Yeah! It's entertaining.

What do you remember about your first visit to this beach?
I came from Bosnia, and my grandparents lived in a building near here, so the first place I went to in America, you could say, was Revere Beach. I was 7 or 8.

You've been ousted as mayor. When did this happen?
Today! I try to check in every day, but someone ousted me this morning. He's only checked in 12 times. [Ed. note: At least 23 times, as of this writing.] I've checked into Revere Beach almost 50 times!

Who is this current mayor?
His name is Brian. He is going to die. I'm going to find out who this guy is. He's stealing my shit. [Ed. note: We are certain Ms. Pekmez is joking and lacks any legitimate desire or intent to physically harm Brian M.]

Would you like to say anything to "Brian"?
I'm taking it back, bitch.
