With Tagging Arrests Back in the Headlines, Dope Graf Show This Weekend In Cambridge

As some of you may have recently seen in the Boston Herald - under the headlines "Grime Wave" and the in-depth follow-up "Judges crack down on spray-paint vandals" - the combination task force between the BPD, Transit Police, and authorities from damn near every surrounding municipality is gunning hard for repeat graf offenders - a group that probably includes more than a few heads who are reading this right now.

It's hardly news that police in and around Boston get wicked serious about vandalism; I detailed such in a late-2008 Boston Phoenix cover story. But according to the Herald, there seems to be a burgeoning up-and-coming crop riding the coattails of Mass graf legends who are now quasi-legit and/or hiding out along the North Shore. And as expected, they're being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, which extends pretty far for writers around here.

Nevertheless, there's still good news for those of us who adore kaleidoscopic city-scapes, and who miss the days when trains were covered in glorious Krylon. This Saturday (flier below), organizers with the Margaret Fuller House and Area 44 Peace are showing work by some of the nicest cats in the region at Clement Morgan Park in Cambridge, for a very special graf installment of Arts in the Park. Check it...
