TV on tour: "Deadliest Catch" live

Cast members from the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch are leaving the unforgiving sea for the open road. Following in the footsteps of "The Guy Fieri Roadshow," Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan's "Pack Power Tour," and other head-scratching television-inspired live tours, Captain Sig and the Hillstrand Brothers are coming to Lowell Memorial Auditorium this fall to present a "rare, live, interactive" event for the show's fans and aspiring crab fisherman. Don't they know there aren't any crabs in Lowell? Oh wait...

(Yes, that's the best we could come up with. Why bother when the "best crab joke" has already been created, and the public has already come to a consensus. Crab bless you all.)

According to the press release we received this morning, the tour will "bring the intimate world of crab fishing to a live audience" through storytelling. The rest is kind of vague. Perhaps there will be a Q&A with reality TV stars (oxymoron, I know), a crab boil, or a Bon Jovi sing-along. Or maybe there will be a cringeworthy series of awkward pauses. Regardless, wake us up when they return with "Deadliest Catch: The Musical" or a showcase of crustacean puppetry.

Feeling crabby? Tickets for the Sept 11 event are available here starting next Monday at 10 am.
