Literary Missed Connections Roundup: November
Boston being full of college kids and all, you'd think there'd be a shit ton of missed connections involving books, so I turned to Craiglist to find out. Here's what I saw:
Reading John McPhee (m4w) Green Line
You were wearing a maroon coat and reading "The Founding Fish" on the train around 5 this evening. Wish I had said something, because John McPhee is excellent.
Let's get coffee?
Aw, get coffee with the dork, lady! Here's another:
Dark haired girl with glasses on bus 73 - m4w - 38 (Belmont)
You sat diagonal from me for the bus ride. I had a hat and dark hair and got off at Beech st (right after the dunkin donuts). You were reading a pretty thick paperback book and I didn't want to bother you. I thought you were cute and was curious if you wanted to go out sometime?
Theo
Theo sounds like a considerate young man. Wonder what book his lady love was reading? Here's my guess:
Kate - m4w
You're hot, and you know it. I have been told it is not polite to stare, but sometimes it happens. I was walking by you and heading for the door. I had a book in my hand. Tell me where we were so I know it is you.
Look out, Kate! This guy sounds creepy and hostile. But if you decide to get in touch anyway, I think I can guess what book it was.
But my favorite wasn't from Boston at all:
book store - m4w - 33 (RI)
I WENT DOWN ON U IN A BOOTH. U WAS HUGE.
