One Helluva Line-Up: Boston Book Festival Schedule Announced

You'll be happy to know that some people - or actually a lot of people - are still reading things other than Pop Eater. In fact they're reading books, lots of them, not to mention articles about people reading books, and books about articles about how we'll be reading books in the future.

Here at the Phoenix we're proud to be a big booster of the Boston Book Festival. It's one of America's foremost annual literary gatherings, an opportunity to meet our favorite authors face to face and pester them to sign our first editions. So at long last, here's THE LIST OF THIS YEAR'S FEATURED AUTHORS.

While the roster is extensive, some shout-outs are in order. Extra-special props to local writer-presenters Steve Almond (God Bless America), Chuck Hogan (Prince of Thieves (The Town)), Governor Deval Patrick (A Reason To Believe), Caryl Rivers (The Truth about Girls and Boys), Glenn Stout (Fenway 1912), and Mitchell Zuckoff (Lost in Shangri-La).

And that's not even close to all. We'll also be stuffing our tote bags with autographed works from: Kate Beaton (Hark! A Vagrant!), Andre Dubus III (Townie), Jennifer Egan (A Visit from the Goon Squad), Chuck Klosterman (Visible Man), Gregory Maguire (Out of Oz), Michael Ondaatje (The Cat's Table), and Richard Russo (The Whore's Child).
