Rock And Roll Rumble lineups announced: Dear fan of that one band, you're gonna end up hearing some new shit

Last week we got the participating bands in the 2013 ROCK AND ROLL RUMBLE, and last night we got the nightly lineups, randomly drawn out of RICHARD BOUCHARD'S hat live on the air during organizer ANNGELLE WOOD's local rock program, Boston Emissions on WZLX. It's official -- start your amps.

Of course, enough people by now have noted that among the very best elements of the Rumble are pairing up bands that would normally never share a bill together. And this year's battle, the 33rd annual, has some pretty outrageous parings, like on Night 4, April 11: oh hey, what up LIFESTYLE playing their veteran brand of synthpop right after WHITCOMB shows us what metal's like up in Maine (is that even legal in Cambridge?) And take the closing sixth night, April 13. That Saturday showdown finds four grouped bands which will share nothing but the soothing T.T. The Bear's Place air they'll breathe and maybe a bag of potato chips from the bar: the jangle pop smarts of PARKS; the sheer brutality of JACK BURTON VS DAVID LO PAN (pictured above); the smooth neo-soul of RUBY ROSE FOX; and the glam-revivalism of THE DAILY PRAVDA. That's some schitzo shit right there. Hope ya like variety.

Even SUPERMACHINE setting the tone for the country twang of GLENN YODER & THE WESTERN STATES should be interesting. The hard rock 'Machine certainly wasn't asked to warm up last night's Old 97s bill at the Sinclair like Yoder and his crew were.

Beyond that, there's always one Group of Death each year, and this time around it feels like Night 2, April 8. ENDATION, THE DEEP NORTH, HERRA TERRA, and CAMDEN not only give us an unpredictable second night of prelim action, but also a pretty dope rock and roll show for a Monday.

Here are the official dates and line-ups, bands listed in order of appearance... tickets, both individual night passes and nine-night badges for the hungry, are now on sale through Ticketweb.
