Radiohead releasing "newspaper album" (digital 2.19). Will anyone under 40 buy it?

So did RADIOHEAD watch Muse last night at the Grammy's, decide "fuck this, let's hit the studio," and proceed to whip up a new album in about 12 hours?

Because out of nowhere the English alt-rock luminaries announced this morning their eighth studio album, The King of Limbs, would be out digitally this weekend. When the kids tweeted last night that Arcade Fire winning Album of the Year would have immediate indie rock implications, they certainly couldn't have envisioned this. The King of Limbs hits brick and mortar shops on May 9, but digital releases will invade inboxes this Saturday, February 19.

It's being billed as a "newspaper album," which begs the question -- does that mean no one under 40 will buy it? To keep up with the times, those interested in the new record have some purchase options. Here are the deets:

Digital only - PRESALE (MP3: $9, WAV: $14)

Radiohead's new record, The King Of Limbs, is presented here with a choice of two digital formats:

MP3 version is a 320K constant bit rate file.
WAV version is a full CD quality uncompressed digital audio file.
One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12" vinyl.
The King of Limbs can be pre-ordered now and downloaded on Saturday 19th February 2011.

Newspaper Album - PRESALE (Album + MP3: $48, Album + WAV $53)

Radiohead's new record, The King Of Limbs, is presented here as the world's first* Newspaper Album, comprising:

Two clear 10" vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
A compact disc.
Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.
The Newspaper Album comes with a digital download that is compatible with all good digital media players.
The Newspaper Album will be shipped on Monday 9th May 2011 you can, however, enjoy the download on Saturday 19th February 2011.
Shipping is included in the prices shown.
One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12" vinyl.

The protagonist in this clip pretty much sums up Adam 12's opinion of the Radiohead discography. Enjoy.
