Phoenix meets the Phoenix: hugely awesome band to perform intimate gig for lucky Boston Phoenix readers

As many people are aware, PHOENIX and THE PHOENIX have many things in common. We're both huge French electro-pop stars, obviously. And when you Google either of us, you come up with results in Arizona. That's what you get for being famous.

Well, after years of people confusing us, getting each other's email, and admiring each other from afar, we've finally decided to prove to everyone that we're actually not the same person -- by showing up together in the same room at the same time.

Yes, that's right: the band PHOENIX has agreed to come to Boston play a very exclusive, very intimate, very unplugged show on December 4 for ThePhoenix.com and a very select few of our readers. And when we say intimate, we mean really, really small. The actual location is a closely-held secret (frankly, they haven't even told us yet) but we can tell you this: where they're playing, we're pretty sure nobody's ever played a show there before.

As you may be aware, PHOENIX is already headlining our sister station WFNX's annual "MIRACLE ON TREMONT STREET" blowout at the Orpheum with SPOON and PASSION PIT, a gig that sold out immediately. Don't ask, we don't have any extra tickets. But we'll sneak a few of you into our secret gig if you're nice to us.

THE ONLY WAY TO WIN TICKETS: Become a fan of the Boston Phoenix on Facebook and leave us a wall post with a link to your favorite Phoenix song and favorite ThePhoenix.com article. The most creative responses will be rewarded.

We'll notify the winners on Wednesday.

Happy Thanksgiving!
