Nominate-best-2010

Dirty laundry

Not sure, but we think Jason Newsted's torso is inside.

1. Continuing Camille's thread from the other day, more beef, please:

- Sleater-Kinney calls out Interpol in this week's Phoenix. (Hey, if S-K wants to come play Best Music Poll, we can settle this next week once and for all. Sub Pop: make it happen!)

- On much less interesting note, Motley Crue v. NBC.

2. For those who snoozed on Billy Corgan's 25-chapters-and-counting MySpace autobiography (not that we blame you: no way we're reading this), here's "The Confessions of Billy Corgan" in all its egomaniacal glory.

3. Noggin so real! Crucial videos from Elizabeth "Ida" Mitchell and that geeky girl with the glasses. OTD and kids are big fans of the Liz Mitchell solo records, though her Liz-and-Loeb songs aren't bad either (we're pretty sure Liz said she wrote most of it). Speaking of which, Liz and Dan are gonna be at MassMoca on June 11 doing the kiddie thing, which we can vouch is hot. Show at First Night two years back was hilarious. Liz is all earth-mommy and stuff, and Dan sorta gets into it a little, but they actually brought old balding dour-assed Warn "His Name Is Alive" Defever and his wife (Yoko?) with them, and those two just sat on stage looking like death warmed over while the two-year-olds blew up the Hynes like a mini-me rave. It was all 12:45 a.m. SNL skit-ish, like "Children: this is what it looks like when the world has beaten you to a pulp. Now here's a Woodie Guthrie song." Off the chain.

4. These fuckers, however, are on OTD's last goddamn nerve.

5. DOWNLOAD: In this week's column, the Tim Sweeney "Beats In Space" mix with the DFA's Nine Inch Nails remix, Kelly O's faux-favela B-side, the latest Katie Enlow guest spot (on DJ Riko's LCD Soundsystem mashup), Charlotte Church's Pointer Sisters makeover, and yet another spazzcore band lands a Yeah Yeah Yeahs cameo. Links over there. Too lazy to put 'em up again.
