Since we neglected to mention it last week, Vol. 2 of Phoenix download column is up right over here: Avenged Sevenfold, mp3 version of the Tsar track we had y'all streaming a couple weeks back, Turbonegro rewind for all our Scandinavian inky-fingered thugs, plus Unseen and rehash of the inaugural Crash and Burn post, 'cause Bill dropped by and reminded us how hot that album is. C&B got some big shit lined up, more in a minute.

The Briefs, "Orange Alert" (BYO Records). (Via BYO). Older, but still an OTD fave. Can't believe they're giving this away for free: came across the link while writing about Unseen track in this week's Download column. Not the least bit like it, but the lyrics to this song are everything the title of "Weapons of Mass Deception" promises but doesn't deliver on. If you see these guys, they look like a punk rock halloween costume shop -- but when you hear 'em you're like, Shit, how come no one writes Dead Kennedys songs anymore?
