Rush Limbaugh, NFL owner?

It could happen--apparently, the star of the Excellence in Broadcasting Network is teaming with St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts in an attempt to buy the St. Louis Rams.

Early comment on ESPN.com has ranged from guardedly positive to deeply skeptical. My personal favorite: "Who was the last big time racist owner of a professional sports team? Wasn't it that old lady from the Cincinnati Reds?"

Oh, that right,if you don't drink the Obama Kool-Aid you are a racist.  You meia people need to be a little more creative.  Always saying the same thing.

Lou: that's my favorite because it makes fun of Limbaugh and Marge Schott.

David (and Jeff): it's actually not Limbaugh's non-Obama-Kool-Aid drinking that makes me think the "racist" label is appropriate. It's stuff like this:

OK, so 10 comments of dubious provenance make one a racist but 20 YEARS of nodding assent to Rev. Wright do not. Glad we cleared that up.

AC--"Dubious provenance"? What does that mean? Do you think these are fabricated?

Also, while I'm no fan of Wright's--or Obama's association with him--please note that these are examples of Limbaugh *speaking*, not listening. Big difference.

We cant allow such a bad person as Rush to be part of the NFL. This is a league that owners throw away players after they are so badly injured they are no longer useful. A league where coaches look the other way as players inject steriods to perform better but cause increased rates of cancer in their later years. A league where players beat women, take drugs, carry guns, indicted for murder, run dog fighting rackets, God please dont let Rush ruin the integrity of the NFL
