Meet the Mayor: Twelve Chairs
Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in
their natural habitats.
Twelve Chairs
Maggie Battista
Would you agree that you have nice things?
I
have some nice things, but Twelve Chairs has lots of nice, pretty
things. I can usually afford the books, not necessarily the pretty
furniture, but I go in there, and it's kind of like, "Oh, wow, I could
live here."
Why don't you?
I'd
like to. I'm trying to think through the logistics. They do have a
sink. They don't have a fridge, so I couldn't keep my food anywhere. I
cook a lot, and there's no way to cook there. They don't have everything
I need, but I would certainly like to hang out there and escape for a
while.
What's your least favorite thing to sit on?
Um,
so, right before I got married, my mother-in-law, may she rest in
peace, gave us this leather sofa. It was wonderful at the time. When you
have nothing and someone gives you something, you're so grateful. But
our dog hates it, essentially, and has ripped it all to pieces. Now I
don't want it anywhere in my house anymore, because it's a mess. But she
gave me tons of other furniture that I love to sit on.
