A Very Homegrown Holiday; Siena Farms Farmstore opening party
We know some holiday parties are mildly painful, and usually
require some sort of maximum-strength libation to keep you going, but here's
one we'll gladly show up to, no arm-twisting required: megachefs Ana Sortun
(Oleana) and Barbara Lynch (The Butcher Shop, Menton, Stir, No. 9 Park and
Barbara Lynch Gruppo) are throwing a little par-tay for the brand-spankin' new
Siena Farms Farmstore. From 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, you have full permission to
mingle with the master chefs and spend too much holiday cash--with 20% off all
cookbooks, 40% off bundles and stocking stuffers and free drinks and snacks (prepared by the crazy-talented ladies themselves, thank you), we
can practically hear the justifications in your head already.
The farmstore, snuggled in between Stir, The Butcher Shop,
and B&G Oysters in the South End, opened December 1. Unsurprisingly, the
place is a veritable food groupie paradise, with freshly picked goodies from Siena
Farms (run by Sortun's hubbie, Chris Kurth, above), baked goods from Sortun's Sofra
Bakery, and some of the best cookbooks on the market.
Siena Farms Farmstore is located at 106 Waltham St., Boston. Open noon-8 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday. Call 978.261.5365 or visit //www.sienafarms.com/farmstore.php.
