Meet the Mayor: Coolidge Corner Theatre
Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in
their natural habitats.

Why did you used to
be the mayor here?
Mainly because of the Box Office Babies
screenings. I was bringing my infant here for quite a while. That's fallen off
recently, as she's been getting a little more active. Used to be, I could bring
her in a car seat and enjoy the movie for myself. Now she's more interested in
discovering things for herself. It's put a damper on things.
Have you considered
sedating your child with pharmaceuticals?
Yeah, I've thought about Robitussin or something, but that
would be cruel. She's been good to me, so it's only right that I return the
favor.
If indie films are so
great, why aren't they all financed by big evil corporations?
Well, because of the bottom
line. Indie films can be great, but they don't appeal to the mass audiences big
evil corporations tend to get behind. For them, it's all about getting the most
eyes on a picture. What we consider good is subjective. That's why there are all
these hordes following Bieber and Gaga. Their fans consider that great music. To
me, it's garbage. So it's all perspective.
