Primates evacuated from Liberty Hotel

The luxe Liberty Hotel in Beacon Hill was evacuated this morning after firefighters discovered elevated levels of carbon monoxide. According to The Boston Globe, among those evacuated were hundreds of guests, employees, and... two monkeys and a crow? WTF?

The Globe reports, "The evacuees that spilled out onto Charles Street included some unusual hotel guests: two monkeys and a crow named "Shaft" staying with animal trainers for a movie being filmed in Boston. The owner of the crow rushed immediately outdoors because he did not want his bird to become the canary in the coal mine."

These are some baller animal actors. Although the thought of apes throwing feces around in Alibi is amusing, wouldn't a chain hotel be adequate? Or a zoo? But presumably, Shaft and his friends are in town filming "The Zookeeper," the Kevin James "comedy" that may or may not have contributed to the death of the beloved Geoffrey the Toys 'R' Us giraffe. They deserve all the perks they get.
