WGBH netcasts historic James Brown performance
Perhaps responding to our plea a week back when we linked to the YouTube vid of James Brown's historic Boston Garden performance recorded on the night Dr. King was murdered, WGBH has launched a "netcast" that examines the concert and the events leading up to the broadcast -- as well as the political wrangling that went on behind the scenes. The presentation is a little awkward -- there's a trick to enabling Flash on a Quicktime player that'll require a trip outside the site -- but it's worth it for the footage. A press release sent around today also promised a link to the full audio of the concert, which, um, we can't find for the life of us. (If you find it before we do, let us know about it in the comments.)
