See this film series: The 2012 Oscar Shorts @ the ICA
The joke is that those who make the shortest films
make the longest Oscar acceptance speeches, but when you compare the shorts to
some of the feted features you might find that it might be justified. The ICA offers an opportunity
to see for yourself when over the next three weeks it presents the shorts
nominees in all three categories: live-action, documentary, and animation.
On Monday, February 20 they will show Live Action at 1 pm, Documentary at 3:15 pm, and Animation at 11 am. Of
the five shorts represented in the latter selection Phoenix film critic Gerald Peary
especially recommended Amanda Forbis and Wendy Tilby's Wild
Life
for its old-fashioned, hand-painted beauty. The programs will be repeated
through March 11. The ICA
is at 100 Northern Ave,
