See this film: Yogawoman [with Q&A] at the Regent Theatre
It sounds like the name of a New Age superhero,
one who fights stress, gloom, and bad posture in a crusade for universal peace
of mind. And in a way it is. Narrated by Annette Bening, Kate and Saraswati
Clere's documentary Yogawoman shows how this ancient spiritual
discipline was originally brought from India by male practitioners but recently
has been proselytized by a new generation of women who have spread its healing powers
around the globe. Followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and with featured
yoga teacher Patricia Walden, it screens at the Arlington Regent Theatre, with
proceeds benefiting Yoga For Single Moms and yogaHOPE. The Regent is at 7 Medford Street, Arlington
