[what's f'n next] CUSSES, tonight @ Middle East, presented by WFNX
Last month fiery Georgia art-rock trio CUSSES had their music video for “Don’t Give In” added to MTV rotation, a result of winning an MTVu Freshman Fan poll. It’s a sign of things to come for the no-wave/post-punk band outta Savannah, whose 2012 self-titled debut is a romper-ride of sinister sounds.
The latest in WFNX’s ongoing What’s F’n Next live series is proud to present CUSSES tonight at the Middle East in Cambridge with Sugar Bomb and Buttons + Mindy.
Grab a preview via the videos below, but we recommend you give their entire LP a listen via Spotify. In addition to the blitzing "The Wait Is Over," which we've added to rotation on WFNX, tracks like "Hey You," "Blood Everywhere," and "Worst Enemy" all have their own neo-punk flair and flavor. CUSSES have a pretty varied sound, but mostly recall the beautifully damaged early noise years of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. They're probably already tired of the comparison.
Regardless, don't sleep tonight, catch CUSSES before they blow the eff up. Their wait is soon over.
