Weekly Playlist #1: Animal Talk, the Symptoms, the Tin Thistles, Soft Pyramids
Weekly Playlist kicks off with the premiere of ANIMAL TALK’S brand spankin' new single, “Mama Was A Teenage Rocker,” a smooth rock jam that coats an electronic gloss over some tasty ‘70s grooves. Speaking of teenage rockers, Allston’s THE SYMPTOMS may have just graduated high school in June, but “Don’t Leave” is an experimental pop slider aged well beyond their collective years, and the young risers' record release party is set for Wednesday, September 26 at T.T. The Bear's Place in Cambridge. Hardcore punk dudes THE TIN THISTLES turned more than a few heads at this past spring's Rock And Roll Rumble, but say goodbye to Boston and beyond this Sunday at the Middle East, dropping a 7-inch split with Welter on their way out the door. To close out our inaugural mixtape, indie rock upstarts SOFT PYRAMIDS are back in action with more guitar-pop goodness, one of two new tracks they released last month via Bandcamp. Catch them tonight, September 20, at Radio in Somerville on a bill with the Dying Falls, Sinnet, and Chandeliers.
