[the phoenix + w hotel] Electric Summer Music Series launches next week w/ Into the Alpha /// then M|O|D + JASS + SPF 5000

Like Protokoll back in the mid-2000s, we're always moving forward here at the Phoenix. So after the dust settles on our three-night Boston Accents Funeral Party next week, we're launching a new live music series at the W HOTEL and their subterranean DESCENT nightclub.

The ELECTRIC SUMMER MUSIC SERIES kicks off Thursday, July 26 at the W with a special live performance by INTO THE ALPHA, a new experimental electronic project from Cobi Mike of Gentlemen Hall. They take G-Hall's polished pop sound and throw it into the blender to incorporate everything from dubstep to classic rock. It's a ferocious schitzo-but-soulful blend that might shake up the W like it's never been shaken before.

From there we go underground for two dance parties at Descent, in collaboration with the GHouse crew -- first, August 16 with the balls-out bass-heavy party sounds of M|O|D...

...and then on August 30 as we prep for Labor Day weekend with the intelligent dance music ideology of the JASS collective...

Feeling pretty good about life, we return to the W on September 20 with a booty-shaking electro-boom performance by Somerville trio SPF 5000.

All the parties are free to attend. Let's bring an uptown mind to the downtown scene.
