[new music tuesday] ThunderBloods (ex-Bodega Girls/Kingsley Flood) post two songs, play Radio in Somerville July 21
Hold on to your butts, THUNDERBLOODS just fucked up your peaceful July Tuesday. And it's pretty much what we'd expect from former members of Bodega Girls, Kingsley Flood, Read Yellow, and other Boston luminaries.
Thunderbloods are comprised of Evan Kenney, Taylor Sullivan, Jesse Vuona, Steven Lord, and Austin Bousley, and the quintet posted two new bluesy rock anthems to their Bandcamp this afternoon "Nashville Days And L.A. Nights" and "Pussy Patrol." One post, two great song titles. The first one is for the lovers -- I'm even getting a little Cinderella Heartbreak Station-era vibe off it, while the second is a boozy bar banger fight song that already has me showing off my tits and fists here in the Boston Phoenix newsroom.
Thunderbloods play their first gig on Saturday, July 21 at Radio in Somerville with All Echoes Return (formerly the Bleedin' Bleedins), Nouns, and Nervous. Bodega is listed on the venue's online calendar, but maybe this is all a clever switcheroo at he hands of Mr. Kenney. Anyway, bring paper money singles and a stash of Susan B. Anthonys.
