Odd Future Just Fucking Chilling at Fourth Wall Tomorrow (Wednesday, 3/21)
I
guess I'm pretty out of touch with hip-hop these days. Apparently one
of the hottest acts in the game – that I've written about on
several occasions – is going to be hanging out, tomorrow, in a
building directly next to where I work. And I had no fucking idea.
This
is not a rumor. Odd Future, who has a show at House of Blues tomorrow
(Wednesday, March 21), will be chilling at its very own pop-up store,
located at Fourth Wall Project (132 Brookline Ave), next to Phoenix
headquarters. Apologies to everyone who I accused of making shit up.
From
what I understand, they'll be at Fourth Wall from 11am to 6pm, which
in rap speak probably means they'll stop by for a few minutes between
lunch and skateboarding. You never know with these guys though – on
their first Boston visit, they nearly started a riot.
Either
way, I'm excited for the cameo. In addition to writing one of the
many narratives about their Santorum surge last year, I've grown into
a fan for sure. Compared to their contemporaries, Tyler, Earl, and
Hodgy are like Nas, Ghost, and BIG.
Stay
tuned for extensive coverage of this – including crowd shots,
interviews, and whatever else we can milk out of the Wolf Gang. It
will be interesting to see how thick the scene gets, but either way
Fenway can handle it. In the least, it might be the last grimy thing
that goes down around here before the whole place goes bougie.
