[round here, there and everywhere] Mean Creek to tour US with Counting Crows; new album "Youth Companion" out in the fall
Remember that time at SXSW last year when ADAM DURITZ of COUNTING CROWS was dancing around like a madman to MEAN CREEK'S crazed outdoor performance at the Rusty Spurs and even tweeted that our hometown crew were "KILLIN IT RIGHT NOW!!!"?
We'll nearly a year has gone by and the frontman of the '90s hit-making rock band has stepped up his game: Boston's beloved 'Creek will now fly with the 'Crows for 14 national dates that start in Seattle, cross the country heading back to the northeast, and end on a high note in Nashville.
The homecoming show is April 24 at the House of Blues, where Mean Creek last performed at the WFNX Miracle on Lansdowne Street. Needless to say, our city's indie rock darlings are way stoked, and they relayed such sentiments a few minutes ago via the Book of Faces.
"We are SO PUMPED to announce that we'll be hitting the road this Spring with the wonderful Counting Crows!!! We couldn't be more thrilled. Check out the poster below for the full U.S. dates... This is going to be really, really awesome. Seattle, we're starting with you!
Nice work, MC. The band's new album, Youth Companion, will be out in the fall. It was recorded with Chris McLaughlin at 1867 Recording Studio and is the full-length follow-up to last year's heralded Hemophiliac EP.
