[ticket giveaway] Crocodiles bring a psychic reaction, tonight @ Brighton Music Hall
In this week’s Phoenix, Michael Christopher talks to Brandon Welchez of San Diego noise-pop duo CROCODILES, who bring a fuzzy haze of rock and roll fury to the Brighton Music Hall in Allston tonight.
Hey, want to go? We're giving away a pair of passes, courtesy of our friends over at Fenway Recording Sessions. In the article linked above, Welchez says:
"It gets pretty frustrating to have your complete artistic output summed up in _______ or this or that. We don't want to be part of any kind of scene or anything like that; we just want to be ourselves and do our own thing."
Fill in the blank: what much-maligned-yet-highly-celebrated early-'90s music genre is Welchez referring to?
Email your answer to michael[a]phx.com with CROCODILES in the subject line, and I'll select one winner at random around 2pm this afternoon. Passes will be good for the winner and a guest.
The band's sterling 2010 record Sleep Forever has been in constant rotation here at Phoenix HQ the past few weeks, and we're particularly excited to hear standout track "Mirrors" tonight at BMH (and rumors persist they'll perform their cover of Deee Lite's "Groove Is In The Heart" on this tour as well).
Check out the lads playing "Mirrors" at KEXP in Seattle last March. Ace fucking tune, this one.
