MMOSS, Quilt, Prime Rama @ Austin Psych Fest this April
Props to MMOSS, QUILT, and PRINCE RAMA, a trio of bands with varying Boston ties, for getting invited to this April's fifth-annual Austin Psych Fest. Last year Ghost Box Orchestra were asked to come down to Texas by the Black Angels, and performed in the city's abandoned 1950s Seaholm Power Plant. It's a pretty awesome lineup, headlined by Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Black Lips, and the Angels. Shit, look at how far down Ringo Deathstarr are on this list.
With all these noisy heavyweights, it's good to see the emerging Boston sound will be represented down there, and maybe in 2013 we can go bigger -- New Highway Hymnal, Sand Reckoner, December Sound, Autochrome and anyone else that emerges at the Deep Heaven Now festivals between now and then.
And hey, speaking of Deep Heaven, word on the street is that this year's spring show arrives the weekend of May 4, in its usual Union Square, Somerville, homes of PAs Lounge and Precinct. Get psyched. (Sorry.)
