Well here's an uplifting story spitting in the scowling face of rock and roll ennui. Rising New Jersey pop-rock trio STEPHIE COPLAN AND THE PEDESTRIANS got their new track "Jerk" spun last night by Paul Driscoll on WFNX, in between a salty Brit sandwich of Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Miles Kane. Welcome to the bigs, Driscoll-style.
Knowing "Jerk" was coming up, Coplan, who studied philosphy at Tufts University, recorded herself listening to the song and freaking the eff out along the way. We have to admit that it's pretty fucking adorable, maybe the cutest thing on the internet since Oskar the blind kitten played with a ball.
We already can't wait for her publicist to ignore our interview requests eight months from now once she's all famous and too cool for school and only talks to bloggers from Nylon.
Just kidding, kid seems alright, and at the very least, it's rad to see someone lose their shit over being played on the radio. Feels like That Thing You Do was a long time ago. Here's the actual video for "Jerk;" the line "I was just a picture in your head / And now i'm looking for my t-shirt in your bed" is a gold-star keeper.
